Just a heads up for local and visiting photographers. The "Feels Like Home Reunion Celebration" is this weekend, Sept 18-20th. in downtown Brownwood, Texas. This is a great time to shoot some very interesting street photography, There's also an Artisan Row, which is new this year, where local artists will be displaying/selling their artwork. All the details are available at www.celebratebrownwood.com
Don't forget to sign up for Scott Kelby's World Wide Photo Walk on October 3rd. A photo walk has been set up for our area at the Lake Brownwood State Park. Visit http://kelbyone.com/photowalk/ Click on Find a Photo Walk and type in Brownwood TX for details and registration. Enjoy the weekend. This blog and website is in it's early stages of development, so please bear with me as I figure out what I'm trying to do.
I'll be blogging about many of my favorite photography subjects; how to's and tips I've learned along the way, photo groups and clubs, photography software, recommendations and suggestions from other photographers, upcoming photography events, and a little of my philosophy about photography and it's impact on the visual arts and artists. The Portfolio consists of the types of subjects I like to photograph, namely, Landscapes, Seascapes, Skyscapes, City/Urbanscapes, Still-Lifes, and Nature. My plan is to use this venue to discuss some of the details of taking and producing the images. Most images will be for sale and can be purchased by contacting me directly. Click here for more information on purchasing prints. One of the ways I promote the visual arts through my photography is to do short demonstrations for Art Associations/Clubs/Guilds of traditional artist (painters). The emphasis is on how photography can enhance their artwork, as well as providing some basics of photography and tips on camera usage to photograph their own artwork. I am looking forward to hearing from you through your comments on how I'm doing. I'm pretty thick skinned so I can take positive criticism fairly easily. Remember all an artist wants is RECOGNITION, and we don't care if it's good or bad. |
